Who is this person?

Debbie Deem holds Level I Certification from the National Academy of Needlearts (NAN) in Canvas Embroidery and has taught for the Embroiderer's Guild of America (EGA), the American Needlepoint Guild (ANG), and private study groups.

While studying Applied Art in college, Debbie worked in fabric stores and painted custom needlepoint canvases for the local needlework shop. The fun and challenge of embroidery stitches inspired her to study for seven weeks at the Elsa Williams School of Needle Art in 1976 - 1977. Since then Debbie has logged over 1500 workshop hours with exceptional teachers in a variety of media.

Her corporate and freelance work experience includes over 20 years in graphic design and marketing communications. Having knowledge of print production and computer software, Debbie served as newsletter editor for both the Dogwood and Georgia Chapters of the EGA.

When it comes to creativity with a needle, Debbie favors mixing needlework with other art techniques, design and color studies, stitched network pattern variations, stitch journaling, art doll making, and a bit of quilting.
