Sponsoring an off-line student is a generous way to share the assets of web based needlework classes with other stitchers who are not part of the cyberspace community. Stitcharts is pleased to encourage this method, and offers anyone who sponsors an off-line student a Gift Certificate reward for their commitment to share.
Sponsors are encouraged to add value to the class by sharing their own skills with their sponsored participants, thus helping to connect the threads of the web with the camaraderie of a local face to face gathering.
Responsibilities
As a sponsor, you will need to attend class online, then print and distribute the class materials, and provide a summary of any question/answer activity in the forum. If your sponsored participants have questions or need assistance from the teacher, you would post those topics, and return the answers to your spondents.
Number of Students
You may sponsor one or two students. If you would like to sponsor more, please read the Group Sponsor information.
Payment Options
As a sponsor, you should coordinate a payment method that works for both of you. You may print and complete the registration form, and send it along with their individual checks or money orders - or - you may collect funds from your spondents and pay online through your Paypal account.
Mailing Options for Setup Kits
Stitchartz will mail Setup Kits to individuals - or - they can be combined into a single package and sent to one address.
Discounts, Bonuses, & Gift Certificates
For each paid sponsored participant you register, you will receive a designated amount on a Stitchartz Gift Certificate. This certificate is issued via email and may be used only at Stitchartz. Amounts may vary with the class offered.
Classroom Access
As a Sponsor, you will have, upon request, extended access to the classroom materials beyond the normal advertised course duration. This will allow you to attend one or more class sessions online, and then plan a later meeting with your participants.
A Bit of Fine Print:
Stitchartz requires that you and your sponsored participants sign an agreement to participate.
Once registration for a class is closed, new participants will not be accepted.
Sponsored students are always welcome to participate in the online classroom during the full course. During registration they will be issued the same login options as regular students.
